Scholarships for International Students

The cost of study for education in another country is demanding and consuming, with costs of classes for international students generally being 2-3 times more expensive than for a local university student. Other available scholarships for international students include Ambassadorial Scholarships and International Fellowships. Ambassadorial Scholarships provide a flat rate grant of US$27,000 for one academic year of study in another country. These awards are intended to help reduce costs associated with round-trip transportation, tuition, housing costs, and some educational supplies. Interested applicants must apply for Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships through their local Rotary club. There are International Fellowships awarded for full-time study or research in the United States. The added bonus: Aside from these scholarships providing vast benefits for international students, some of these fellowships are targeted towards female master’s, doctoral, and post doctoral scholars. The specifics of this scholarship are for women who are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Unfortunately, this scholarship does not apply to undergraduates.   • Master’s/Professional Fellowship: $18,000
  • Doctorate Fellowship: $20,000
  • Postdoctoral Fellowship: $30,000.
