Scholarship Contest Eligibility Requirements

In order to apply for the Religious Liberty Essay Scholarship Contest, you must be a high school junior or senior. You do not technically have to be of the Baptist faith, but you will be asked to respond to a faith-based prompt. Thus it is best if you share your ideals with the BJC, as that will give you a better chance at winning scholarship money. You may apply regardless of your field of study in college. As long as you have the ability to write an essay based on a prompt, you may qualify for this scholarship contest.

Apply for the Scholarship Contest

If you wish to apply to the Religious Liberty Essay Scholarship Contest, you will need to compose an 800 to 1,200 word essay responding to the following prompt: “What role should religion play during a presidential campaign?” Once you have completed your essay, you may submit it to the BJC, either through the mail or through their website, BJCOnline.org. The scholarship committee will review all of the applications and inform the winners shortly after. You can find out the exact dates of this announcement on the scholarship page for the BJC. Check there periodically, and you will know all you need to know to apply for the Religious Liberty Essay Scholarship Contest.
