You must provide a letter of recommendation, as well as a written paper about a business you started, or helped to start in order to qualify. If you are interested in starting a business, or have a great idea, then this scholarship is the perfect way to get money for college and work toward that goal of business ownership! Inventions are also accepted into the program.
Girls who like to knit can enter the American Sheep Association’s Make it With Wool Competition: Entrants must enter a wool-made knitted product in one of the age and gender related categories, and can be awarded up to $2000. There is, however, a fee of $10 to enter the competition. All entries must be wool-based projects, and the website provides several tips and hints as to where to get supplies, and the type of projects they are looking for. While this scholarship IS open to all genders, girls are more likely to be applying for this scholarship.
Like to fly? The Girls with Wings Aviation Scholarship might be just right! This unique scholarship awards up to $1000 to two girls interested in Aviation. You must submit an essay stating why you feel you would be a role model for the group. The goal of this scholarship is to help “lift” a girl to achieve her dreams by providing money for college and a possible aviation career. These are just a few of the scholarships for girls out there than can be applied to.
