Aviation Scholarships

Aviation scholarships are plentiful and fulfilling for those seeking a career in the aviation industry. There are more than 300 schools for Aviation College.

There are scholarships like the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) Scholarships. This particular scholarship is open to people who are looking to obtain their baccalaureate or advanced degree aviation. It rewards anywhere from fifteen hundred to twenty five hundred dollars. This is the type of scholarship that may reward multiple scholarships, and is located in Alexandria, Virginia.

The AOPA Air Safety Foundation/Donald Burnside Memorial Scholarship is a different scholarship, that is offered to college juniors and seniors who are looking for degrees that center around aviation. This scholarship also offers a one thousand dollar fund and is located in Farmingdale state college, in New York.

There are also grants and scholarships such as the WAI Scholarships which caters to women only, so is a gender based scholarship. If airplanes aren’t necessarily your thing there is the NHA Scholarship Fund or Naval Helicopter Association which rewards a three thousand dollar scholarship if given.

For the adventurous types, there is a National Aviation Explorer Scholarship, which awards from three thousand to ten thousand dollars and is open to any degree in the field of aviation. They award 5 varying scholarships.

Another scholarship available for people who want to go into flying is the Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship which is specifically for people who are enrolled in a school that is a/ an NBAA/University Aviation Association (UAA)-member. That particular scholarship is good for five thousand dollars.

If none of those scholarships sound interesting there are literally dozens of others, such as the Daedalian Foundation Matching Scholarship Program, Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships, George E. Haddaway Scholarship, the AHS/Industry Annual Student Design Competition Award, KAAA Scholarship or the Kansas Agricultural Aviation Association. There are literally so many unique and different scholarships, all with their own requirements, and for people who are special or different in any way. There are ones for people young, old, experienced, new, male, female, left handed , right handed and so many different things that I could truthfully just list all sorts of scholarships, and none of them would require the same set of things.

Most of the scholarships range between one thousand and ten thousand dollars, are located throughout many locations in the world ( obviously because its aviation, the fastest way to travel), and are for many different career paths. Not all are geared towards pilots. Some are for Engineering or helicopter pilot or even air traffic controller. The only concern with going into the aviation field is that, careers can be uncertain and many students end up with lots of student loan debts. That is why getting scholarships are so important. And as an already enrolled collegiate mind, I would also remind the reader to look for scholarships that are not just targeted towards your specific career goal, you can also find scholarships by writing essays, and you may want to look into FAFSA.

Some other scholarships worth looking into might be the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Scholarship or the Archie C. Towle Aviation Scholarship , the Joshua Esch Mitchell Aviation Scholarship, the Santa Rosa Ninety Nines Aviation Scholarship, but even scholarship.com says that pilots in particular can get scholarships in other areas as well. But if aviation scholarships are what you want then there is the League of World War I Aviation Historians’ Mike Carr Student Paper Award. If you are looking for flight training on particular then you can look into the The EAA Chapter 240 Flight Training Scholarship, for a thousand dollars, The Aero Club of New England Scholarships, for two hundred to five thousand dollars, or the Montana Department of Transportation List of Scholarships, which can range from two hundred and fifty to one thousand dollars, there is also the Women in Aviation International Scholarships, for females of course, which can range from one thousand to a huge seventy thousand dollar scholarship. The 2010 ECOPA Flight Scholarship Award awards eighteen hundred dollars, and the Illinois Pilots Association Scholarship pays a one thousand dollar scholarship. There are dozens upon dozens of different schools and scholarships to train for aviation careers. To get a real grasp of what you want to achieve and accomplish, you need the right ends, and the above mentioned scholarships will help you get there, but the only way to find what you really need, is to do the research yourself, because no one can fill your shoes and no one can vouch for what you’ve done to earn your scholarships.
